these needles are simply the best find ever.
i normally need to use a thimble but since using these needles they are so sharp i no longer need my thimble.
don't ask me why but they are also easy to thread.
i do a lot of hand piecing and applique and using Liuxins needles has improved my work.
thank you.

These are absolutely the best needles that I have found. I can't imagine doing hand applique without them.

So far i have only used the medium needles for applique and i am really happy with them. They are smooth, sharp and the job has never been easier even though i used vilesofix, which can often make piercing the fabric quite difficult. I look forward to quilting with them!

The following comment in quotation marks was left by an anonymous user:
"I wish I could say I had the same success with these needles that others are raving about. I am trying to hand stitch a cotton quilt with Warm and Natural batting. I was told that these were good needles and that I would need to buy size SMALL for this project. These needles BREAK more than they sew, making it necessary to re-thread a new one. It's TOTALLY frustrating. I haven't even made it through two blocks and I've gone through six needles! I am going to exchange them for needles made with quality in the USA or at least not in China!"
Here is my answer to the comments: 1. all needles break when used inappropriately - In fact, you are the one who broke the needles, not a needle breaking itself. You are not alone on that - that is why understanding the science of matching needle's size and its thickness to the density of the materials (fabrics, batting and threads) and address how you quilt will eliminate the problem. For complete information and pain free quilting technique, read my book: Perfect Hand Quilting Without Pain - that is how all others enjoy the best quality needle@lowest cost in the world through healthy quilting - those needles too thick, too short to break under force hurt your hands! Perfect Hand Quilting without forcing needles and hurting hands is the answer! That is the value of knowledge. Go learning!
The last sentence of the "comment" (I quote: "I am going to exchange them for needles made with quality in the USA or at least not in China!") is untrue - but I assume it was not of ill will but of frustration. Here is the truth:
Our needles are made with surgical steel in Japan by a reputable manufacturer. Besides, every country, including China, has plenty good and reputable manufacturers and produce the best quality products. Whether I import from US, Japan or China, I choose to work with reputable manufacturers and pay a decent price for a worthy quality. The reason our needle is so much cheaper is the result of selling direct without all the markups by layers of unnecessary middlemen between real quilters and designers/inventors.
I stress our website is not a political dumping ground but a fun place to share our common love for quilting to improve quilt making so we can love the love of quilting without pain and create beautiful quilts to enrich our own lives and the generations to come. From now on, no anonymous review will be approved. I would appreciate it if you can clear your thoughts before choosing your words aiming at solving a technical problem instead of "slandering around with false accusation". - All the best, Liuxin

I tried these needles after seeing Liuxin Newman demonstrate her new Quilting technique
on DIY Quilting Show with Alex Anderson. I was
very excited to hear that she had perfected a method for hand quilting that didn't involve PAIN! or using extremely short needles(betweens). I had used them for years, and was very good at hand quilting, but was not satisfied with the needles or the thimbles(which I had purchased every kind available and needles). I must say, the Thimblelady, did find a NEW AN MAGICAL WAY OF ELIMINATING THE PAIN OF QUILTING AND APPLIQUE WITH HER NEW TECHNIQUES AND NEEDLES AND THIMBLES. These are like the prior reviewer writes, the best quality needles out there, with no burr's or imperpections, very polished, long, hold numerous stitches without BREAKING! THEY ARE A GOD-SEND, TRULY! AT LEAST GIVE YOURSELF A TREAT AND TRY THEM!

As a professional quilter, it's been a frustrating struggle to find a tool that lives up to the manufacturer's claim.
I constantly rely on my Thimblelady's needles! I could not accurately and precisely stitch and applique without them. They are finely polished with a finish that is smooth as silk. I've never used one that had a "burr" in the eye, thus shredding my expensive threads and consequently, threading these needles are a breeze. The consistency of use is like slicing a hot knife through butter, they glide that easily time and time again.
I'll never use any other needle for my hand work. One question ... when are you going to sell MACHINE needles? I'll be one of the firsts to buy them.
