What is unique about our shop?          

We are a creative sewing centre! We are creative: all designs at Thimblelady are original by Liuxin. We are selective: all products are fine and high quality. We are uniuque: most fabrics are exclusively ours. (We don't want to be the biggest fabric store). We are smart like you: our fabrics are of better value for your money. 

We are a teaching/learning centre: Liuxin is the first highly skilled quilting teacher to own/run a quilt shop. At Thimblelady, Liuxin puts teaching first. Come and see for yourself her quilts both by hand and by machine. She is also good at creative dress making and all sorts of stitcheries. If you are coming to Sydney, put us on your list! We are a service centre! We focus on two major services:
1. DIY machine quilting service. We teach you free of charge how to use our robotic long arm machine so you can finish your own quilt in a day (up to queen size) at a fraction of the cost of commercial quilting! $20/hr. A throw quilt takes approx 3 hours to finish while a single or a double takes around 4 hours and a queen quilt takes approx 5 hours, a king takes approx 8 hours. 2. Just ask the Thimblelady when you need assistance - Not every shop assistant standing behind the counter quilts. While Liuxin, as a gifted quilter, can help you plan, design and calculate yardage that you'll need for your design without any patterns. Just tell her what is in your mind. We have a loyalty card for each of our customers upon their first purchase. Every $200 you spend at the shop will earn you a $20 store credit to pay for consultation, classes/tuitions and DIY machine quilting. Earn lots of credits with us, so you can get the best advice "free".
