Project Workshops: Quilt Before You Go

Come and join me at my new workshop: Quilt Before You Go. Let me show you how to bypass all the useless procedures in quilt making. So you can make your beautiful quilt without wasting your precious time, materials and thread or electricity... Maximum number for each workshop is 4-6 so we can "spread out".

DIY Q-bot!

After much trial and error on teaching and training the Obot for DIY, I have found the normal class teaching isn't the best for Qbot training - not the best value for money nor the best result for real DIY... Because knowing what to do doesn't mean you can remember it. The best? A step-by-step working menu at the shop. Just come with a small top, follow the menu with a little hands on help, you can hit the go button and start quilting. No more worry that you can't remember what you learned last time you quilted. Just follow the working menu... After making a few quilts, you will gradually remember how, just like how you learned to use all the usual house hold appliences...

Join the Thimblelady’s Fabric Club

I have begun designing and producing my own exclusive lines of quality quilting and appliqué fabrics. And no, they won’t be expensive! We pay too much in Australia and my aim is to provide good quality quilting and appliqué fabrics at affordable prices - you won't find any junk in my shop. I'll have the finest cotton and silk materials for quilt and garment making. To take the best advantage of my fabrics come and join my fabric club where you’ll only pay $12 per metre plus postage (if you need it delivered).

Hands-on Tuition with the Thimblelady– only $40/hour

The best use of Thimblelady's overall knowledge and skills. Recently, a few quilters came to me for help with their unfinished quilts for technical help. I helped both of them to work around their individual problems, by suggesting the easiest and most cost effective methods as well as improving the design by adding Oriental style into the American patchwork like Japanese symbols - to make a better quilt. How does it work? Come with your project, we can evaluate it together. I give you all the options, so you can make an informed decision yourself - I believe everyone can make the right decision if and once fully informed. Then we decide on the steps of help you need according to your skill levels. Work at the shop on the things you need to learn - say make one block - under my supervision. Then go home to make all the rest. Schedule another tuition for the next step, once you finsihed all the blocks... You will not be charged for the time you work on the project at the shop. You will only be charged the time I spent with you - usually, two hours at the most.
