Coming from the Airport by train, take a train from the airport to Central Station (approx $10ish), change to a train from Central Station, via Strathfield Station to Hornsby Station. Get off at Thornleigh Station (approx 45min on the train from Central - cost of a return train ticket is approx $8/day. Only $2.5/day for Senior citizens). Email Liuxin or phone the shop (0284111151) if you need further directions, there are too many ways to reach the shop as it is by the main road - Pennant Hills Road.

Lodging: Hotel Ibis Sydney Thornleigh (200-212 Pennant Hills Road, Thornleigh, NSW 2120, located approx 200 meters north from the shop, right next to Bunnings) offers quilters attending Thimblelady's classes a 5% discount off their regular fee ($109 - $118/per night depending on seasons). Mention Thimblelady when making your booking.

I have checked their rooms: they are basic, new and clean with nice modular washroom. There are 3 types of rooms available all at the same price: 2 single beds room, 1 double bed room and 1 double bed and 1 sofa bed in one room allow up to three people (with an additional cost of $30 if the third person is over the age of 12). Food are available at the hotel restaurant if the many restaurants of all cuisines between the hotel and the shop can't satisfy you. Internet connection is also available. The hotel is within a 10 min stroll to the shop or to the Thornleigh Station. 

Dream location: the Shop entrance is in the Station Street, at the eastern end of the pedestrian over bridge (over the Pennant Hills Road) to Thornleigh Station (cross this bridge if you come by train). Plenty of all day parking along Station Street and other nearby streets if you drive. It is a luxury for a Sydney quilt shop - I simply can't ask for more. You are going to love the easy access!

Nearby attractions: Bunnings Warehouse (gardening and hardware store) to leave husbands, restaurants: Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indians, MacDonald's, Subways and a number of pizza outlets, an excellent Woolworth (grocery store chain: This one is so good that it now becomes my grocery shopping with a Dan Murphy's and chemists and several coffee shops for all your needs during your stay in between our shop and the hotel.
