What is Thimblelady Fabric Club?

This is my innovation aiming at delivering the best quality fabrics at the lowest price to dedicated quilters by working with quilters who prepay for the new lines. You have your say in the designing through your membership.  We only produce the designs you want and need! The earlier you pay the better value for money for you! This is extremely important for Australian and NZ quilters who have been paying for the same fabrics more than twice the price of what the rest of the world paid. It is your opportunity to change and save!

  

Who is the designer, producer and retailer of the Club fabrics?

It is designed by Thimblelady® - me actually! I shall be supervising the entire production - all the way from beginning to end! You can hold me accountable for the quality. It will be sold directly to Club members at a Club price 30% below the retail price (even our retail price will be very competitive in the fabric market: approx A$9/meter in the old width for the finest quality fabrics. We don't sell anything that is not the best.) My shops and Retailers can sell them at the retail price. (See more under other member benefit.)

 

How will I differentiate my fabrics in the fabric market?

♫       High quality @ low price! 

♫       Usable colors and minimum patterns that doesn't look too cliched - so your quilt will look one of a kind.

♫      Only two kind of base fabrics that I shall produce: 1. Fine dense weave fabrics for perfect needle turn applique and piecing. 2. Fine cotton satin perfect for hand quilting. Coordinate colors and prints to match the density of weave and thickness of yarns for the best purpose of sewing. Or plain white for you to hand dye or paint them.

 How does the Club work?

Through signing up for Club membership, you decide whether you want to participate in the new line of Thimblelady fabrics. By paying $60/a membership, you are guaranteed a meter of each of the 5 new designs = (5 meters in total for the first line). You can sign up for as many membership as you like. The payment is made preproduction. As soon as we get 200 memberships for a line of designs, we’ll send it to production.

 

Please note, there is no membership "fee" just to join. It is a participation program. The $60 you pay get you 5 meters of the fabrics. Your membership automatically ends 30 days after your fabrics is delivered from us. To continue the membership, continue to sign up for the new member fabrics.

 

How long does a membership last?

Each membership is only valid for the line of fabrics you sign for at a time. You’ll need to sign up for new membership(s) before a new design line is open for signing.  By doing so, your participation is more meaningful. You have the ultimate freedom of choice. I don't offer to sign you up for life because your on going and active participation will be most valuable to us. That is why it worths the trouble to signup on each new line!

 

About my Second line of design:

After second, third thoughts… in fact, rounds and rounds of thinking, I have decided to go ahead with a collection of a coordinated colour pallet that is inspired by our orchid gardens. It will be a design of well coordinated colours. Each design has 1 colour in 4 shades of gradation. The second line will be: Blues (aqua to peacock), Roses (Rose to salmon), Blacks (black to charcoal), Sands (beige to bleached sand) and Peacock (radiant blues to peacock green).
I can't wait for this line because once we have these, we'll have a good range of colours to play applique indulgence with my new designs!

 

 

This first line of fabrics will be printed on 60*60 110*110. 100% cotton. The width of fabrics will be 140cm/56inches. Not the old width of 112cm/43inches. All weft yarns are individual single yarn - no breakage in the weave, therefore, no knots.

There had been several lines of gradated designs and in the most beautiful colour combinations. I got all of them but not satisfied: I can’t use the vibrant colours for needle turn appliqué because none has been printed on the finest cotton… I want to produce fabrics that can be used in every quilt, regardless of how different the styles and themes are. So each of your quilt will be one of a kind!   

  

Let's work together to produce a whole range of colour pallet, 5 at a time until you have every colour, hue and tint of a rainbow! 4 lines a year.

 

What will you get for A$60?

This first membership costs A$60 which covers 5 meters of the finest cotton (60*60 110*110). You’ll get 1 meter of each of the first 5 designs/colour ways. It is A$12/metre/1.1yards (length) x a width of 140cm/56inches. (Today’s currency exchange rate: A$1 = US$0.80).

 

What other benefits do I get as a Thimblelady FabClub member?

Once you get your 5 meters of new fabrics (1 meter/each), you are likely to want more of some of the five. As a member, you will have 30 days to get more of this fabrics at a member special price. The retail price of the fabrics will be A$18/metre, when you click on that fabric, you will be automatically offered a discounted price (A$15/meter) – this is another special function the software can offer on my website! All the members will be “put” in a Club folder, so you will be recognised by the software when you make your purchase of fabrics. I can set this function for 30 days.

 

When can I sign up?

A special button will appear on the top of the left hand bar as “FabClub Signup”, click on that, and purchase a membership (no limit on quantity of membership, so you can purchase more than one for yourself or with friends), just like you buy a thimble (click on the membership, quantity, then check out...). Once your payment is cleared, you can sign in to your account with us, you will see a "FabClub" button on the top of the left vertical shopping buttons, click on that, you will enter the member only area to browse and shop at member special rate.

 

Your access starts at the time your payment for the membership is cleared. It ends 30 days after the fabrics you signed up for is delivered.
